      As all other professions, architecture as an applied art is encountered with many new concepts, methods and techniques. One of them is the virtual space which has not gained a totally clear definiton yet. Virtual space has become a popular concept with the rise of computer technology and met by designers at such a reliable state of the simulation of space.

      Besides, digital structure of virtual space and the quantity and the type of the knowledge needed to become a user stands as a problem for designers, especially for those who are really preoccupied. This also keeps experienced profenssionals aloof from testing and criticising it. The objective of this thesis is to examine technique and conceptual background of virtual space and finding out its borders and its meaning for architects.

      Two main approaches of investigations adopted in the thesis are; a) the conceptual, to examine the internal of virtual space and b) the technical to to find out its limits.
