Summary:

      

In the first part the definitions related to the subject of this research are given and the informations are combined with the individual observations and experiences.

      In the second part the structure in the historical process and current in which the design education is being are defined in reference to architecture education. Further more in this process to support the opinions related to teaching creativeness and designing, these two concepts are emphasized.

In the third part the concept of Basic Design which is accepted as first experience in architectural design and architectural creativeness are emphasized. The concepts which affect design activity and the products while conducting Basic Design lectures are defined.

      In the third part, which is focused on the problems of the creativeness in the context of Basic Design lectures, the admissions related to design education, the education models used at basic design lectures, design studio, and design problems in the first year curriculum are mentioned.

Part four includes the analyses which examine the creativeness context of basic design lectures statistically and questionnaires which aim to determine the tendencies of different studens about lectures, to examine the predictions suggested in this research.
