| Summary: Computer Aided Design (CAD) is a design method. The CAD has been developed and improved since it has been introduced for a couple of decades. The CAD has been used at every stages of design process from design to presentation. This study has been relied upon the real power of Computer Aided Design (CAD). The study is basically a preparation of an Architectural Design Office CAD standards manual.In this research, among countless advantages of CAD usages, the aim was to organize a common drawing standards for a group work in an architectural design office. Therefore this common drawing standards will help many people to work together and produce more work with minimum redundancies and mistakes and faster compare to old method. The study is composed of four chapters and appendixes. In the first chapter, the usage of Computer Aided Design in Architectural Design Office, the definition of CAD standards, how it has been developed, benefits and background information about similar studies has been presented. In the second chapter, a survey aiming to find the needs of architectural design offices has been introduced. A draft “design Office CAD standards manual” and a questionnaire has been introduced. The questionnaire was distributed to the several architectural design Office CAD managers. Feedback coming from the questionnaire has been considered toward preparing the Office standards manual an one example project also added to the thesis. The third chapter includes the scientific analyses of findings of the survey. Critics and interpretations of the test subjects are also included in this chapter. The fourth chapter gives the results and some suggestions to future researchers. In the fifth chapter, references are presented. The appendixes include the survey form, suggestion form, proposal form, model file and paper file layer tables, addresses of some related organizations, design office manual and an example of entire contraction documents of a real project.Key Words: Computer Aided Architectural Design, CAD, Drawing Standard, Group Work, Architectural, Design Office Manual | |||||||||||||||||||||
