| Summary: This thesis is a research on Manchu traditional house. By means of documentation study, this research first tries to explore the grammar of the traditional Manchu house and the rules of its spatial organization. And then tries to explore the meaning inherent in Manchu traditional house. The thesis is composed of four chapters:The first chapter is an introduction in which the motivation, purpose of the research and the general concept of Chinese traditional houses are defined. The second chapter is the main part of this research in which there are three parts: the flow chart of the thesis, the introduction of the methods applied in this thesis and the analysis on Manchu traditional houses. And in the third part, the analyses are carried out by three phases:• The rules of the spatial organization of the traditional Manchu house The third chapter deals with the findings derived from the analyses on Manchu traditional house.
