       Re-use of the historic buildings in historic districts that are negatively impacted by the rapid urbanization phenomenon is aimed to in this study. In this context, Urban-Inns had studied in Trabzon and the new functions and uses had recommended for these buildings. The study had four main chapters

       In the first chapter; determination the reasons for the study, the objective and method of the research had defined, the literature search done on the preservation and re-use of the historic buildings.

       In the second chapter; development of the Inns from Ottoman period to today, measured drawing-documentation, restitution and information about existence Urban Inn Trabzon had done.

       In the third chapter; the analysis of these inns had done based on findings and the recommendations for the new usages had developed according to the analysis.

       The general characteristics of these inns are presented and the cultural value and re-use of these buildings are conveyed at the end of the study.
