| Summary: Rural settlements which faced the threat of extinction for are not taken under protection, which is an architecture with traces of rural local culture. In Rural settlements with heritage value of this architecture has become a traditional architecture, with original values and common uses, winning identity with the effect of the local culture. For the purpose of the conservation of the rural architectural heritage, this study consists of five sections, covering detection and analysis rural traditional houses of Bayburt.In the first part of the study were given information about purpose and method of the study and protection methods and issues are examined with the of rural architecture refering the concepts that creating the rural traditional architecture. In the second part of study general information has been compiled for the study area and discussed in detail in the working stages.In the third part of the study are given in the rural traditional architecture properties of Bayburt obtained during the study. In the fourth part the tables created by evaluating the questionnaire, data analysis was done and are examined about the protection views of traditional home owners converted to data.At the last part according to the results of analyzes, introduced recommendations for the protection of rural settlements and developed strategies for the protection of traditional architecture in the countryside.
