Summary: This study is analyzed and developed within the framework of some keywords such as Kafka, architecture, literature, space and metaphor. First of all, the study touches on the relationship between literature and architecture and examines the common elements at the intersection of these two branches. Then, one of these important common elements which is called space is analyzed and types of spaces that exists in these two art branches are exemplified. After that, in the second part of the study, Kafka s place and importance in the world literature is mentioned, as being the writer of the novel which is examined throughout this study in detail. In addition to this, the space fiction in Kafkaesque literature is analyzed, by briefly addressing the factors which can affect that fiction, such as his life, family, friends, health etc. To realize the purpose of the study, the concept of metaphor is chosen and some essential information is given about this concept. In the second part of the study, items which include metaphors in Kafka s novel, The Trial, are determined and classified in the light of Miles and Huberman s three phase method (data processing, data visualization, drawing conclusion and verification). The study which analyzes comparatively the two different movie adaptations of the novel, aims to reveal how literature can be a resource for architecture, especially in the process of space construction.
