Summary:

In this study, phenological components of the fruits and leaves, depending on different years (2011-2012) and regions, which belong to Vaccinium corymbosum varieties which are heavily cultivated commercially with Vaccinium arctostaphylos L. (whortleberry, huckleberry, trabzon tea, blueberry) and Vaccinium myrtillus L (blueberry, bush flower, upland blueberry) types and Vaccinium corymbosum, and the nutritional values of the fruit juices produced from these varieties have been examined.

In this study, total polyphenol (TPC) and total flavonoid contents (TFC) for all leaf types, in addition to these two analyses, total anthocyanin (TAC) and total proanthocyanidin contents (PAC) for all fruit examples have been analyzed. As a result of these analyses, the highest amounts were generally identified in V. arctostaphylos and V. myrtillus types which are found in the natural species in both leaf and fruit samples.

In the measurement of antioxidant activity, three different test methods (DPPH, FRAP and β-Karoten) in fruits and two different methods (DPPH and FRAP) have been used. The highest antioxidant capacity which was identified in both fruits and leaves, was identified once again in the natural species. Phenolic component analysis has been conducted on both fruits and leaves with the help of HPLC-DAD with the sugar analyses that were done on fruits with the help of HPLC-RID. Fructose and glucose was found all fruit sampels. Furthermore, the most dominant component in all fruits and leaves have been found as chlorogenic acid.
