Summary:

In this study, the performance analysis of wood plastic composites (WPC) produced with the extrusion method was accomplished by using both tea mill waste and sand dust of medium-density fiberboard (MDF) as lignocellulosic materials and high density polyethylene (HDPE) and polypropylene (PP) as thermoplastic polymer. Coupling agents and fire retardants (FR) were used to improve the performances of wood plastic composites (WPC), and their effects on WPC properties were evaluated. The performances of produced WPCs were evaluated in aspect of physical, mechanical, thermal, flammability, biological and morphological properties. In the light of obtained results, it was determined that tea mill waste and MDF sand dust were proper potential filler materials for HDPE and PP thermoplastic polymers. The usage of coupling agentimprovedinterfacialadhesionbetweenlignocellulosic filler and thermoplastic polymer, and the optimum ratio was determined as 3 percentage It was specified that use of fire retardants (FR) improved the flammability of WPC.
