      The rapid increase in population has created together a problem of unemployment. It is necessary to study the problems of the small and middle sized industrial establishments of forest products, which belong to the industry of production, and analyse throughly the factors affecting the occurence of these problems.

      In the province of Bursa has this research of the social and economic positions of the small and middle-sized industrial establishments of forest products been carried out with the technique of questionaire.

      The section of the general nowledge includes the position of the production and industrial establishments of the forest products in our country, the number of the small and middle-sized establishments in this sector and their employees as well as their contribution to economy. Materials and methods have beeen presented theoreticallly in the following section, the results of the questinaire in the third one, they have been asessed in the fourt section, and lastly conclusion and the suggestions have been presented in the fifth section.

      The basic problems of these establishments subject to our research have been identified of the studies and calculations done in this research. The principal objective of this study is to examine the status of small and medium sized forest product industry in the province of Bursa.
