Summary:
The theorotical part, phase I involves description of environment, human and behaviour and the interaction between them. In addition information on researches about location preferences and important results of them were given. In the experimental part, phase II how the characteristics of a space effects human and how much they satisfy the psychological necessities of human is investigated by spatial analyzes of the seatings with perceptual frame and observation methods. In phase III, which consists of findings and research; as a result of evaluating spatial analyzes and observation datas together, spatial analyzes of the seatings which has the longest usage time and which are most preferred are fixed and the characteristics of the spaces which satisfies the psychological necessities of human successfully were determined. It is also determined that; the seating areas which has different space characteristics has got different usage time. According to these steps in the last part some suggestions which can be effective at designing seating areas in open spaces were brought in.
