      This thesis will consider the dominant characteristics and aesthetic beauty of plants, which are the most important part of landscape design even at nighttime. It is aimed to show how different lighting techniques are applied to determine the impact of this on human beings and their visual perceptions.

      As a result, these applied lighting techniques are found as affective on plant visual perception and emphasize their characteristic features. These different types of lighting techniques are especially used to emphasize different plant forms or different dominant features of plants.

      Finally it is also obtained that which techniques can be used depended upon the aim of design and what should be pay attention to relating the design criteria.
