Summary:

In the recent years, computer aided design model has become a widely used way of

architectural presentation. Similar to any other area of engineering and architecture, the power

of the computer is indispensable in landscape architecture. Computer aided design models not

only provide an opportunity to create more realistic presentations but also help reproduce the

real-like view of any object that can be modeled such as a building, a landscape, an object on

the computer screen. The benefit of the computer is that the views on the computer screen can

be transferred onto paper in any wanted scale or angle.

In the first theoretical section of the study, information is provided on the current state

that computer aided design has reached the historical development of simulation and the use

of computer aided design in the field of landscape architecture. In the application section, four

different ground cover materials which were prepared and modeled on the computer were

proposed for two chosen areas in order to apply the most wanted designs according to

among ten different pairs of adjectives selected for these areas and design proposals. In the

third section consisting of results and discussion, the effects created by different ground cover

materials on people were put forward according to the analysis of data obtained from

questionnaires.
