Summary:

activities it hosts. In the present study, which has been carried out in order to determine the

useable tourism potential of the area, a mathematical evaluation method: “criteria

richness, variety and utilitarian (touristic and recreational) value.

The method is shaped around two opposite axes which are protection and utility

values. By evaluating the resource values possessed by the area with this method, utility

and protection values have been determined for each resource value and the general

useable tourism potential has been calculated for the area. In order to determine the

tourism potential of the resource values, a questionnaire study has been conducted with

experts from different disciplines and local and foreign tourists who have visited the area

for various tourism and recreation activities. Each criterion has been valuated individually

and suggestions have been made. By converting the useable tourism potential into

percentages, opportunity has been created for comparison with different areas.
