      In recent years, revetments play an important role in protecting and intervention of coastal areas. But necessary rehabilitation studies for deteroiated natural environment did not have reach enough importance. Although there are many technical studies on coastal areas investigations on their biological properties are very limited. Therefore, in the context of this thesis diversity of plant species on coastal revetments are investigated to make some sugestions on forthcoming landscape planning.

      In the application part, plant species distrubution and richness are investigated. Braun-Blanquet (1932) floristic analysis technique is used in investigation, evaluation and identification of plant features. With analysis studies, plant diversity and its relations with in nine different habitats are determined. As a result, species richness is found to be changing in different habitats. Also, some suggestions on usage of naturally growing revetments plants in landscape planning by taking account their morphological and ecologic properties are given.
