| Summary: Cities are common places in which similar and different human and human groups live together. Urban places are formed to answer every need of their inhabitants. Where that is not the case urban environment can contribute either positively to the life of some inhabitants or negatively. Eventually, inequality comes out between different groups. Women, elderly, disables, single parents, etc. who are evaluated in gender context are one of the groups that are unjustly treated. They have different priorities, expectations and problems because of situations in community. “Gender Mainstreaming” policy that has been adopted in European Union members countries and in other Western countries answer problems and expectations of gender groups in general and those living in urban areas in particular.The problems of gender which is mainly formed women encounter in public places in our city have been tried to be determined by means of policy mentioned and solution proposals have been tried to be constituted in this direction. Study has consisted of five chapters; Chapter One: Aim of study has been determined and in this direction general subjects and concepts have been given place.Chapter Two: Informations related to study area and investigation method have been given. Chapter Three: Findings which are obtained in study area have been examined.Chapter Four: Problems and priorities which are determined in gender context for women have been explained. Chapter Five: Generally, things which have to be done in planning and designing system in urban place for woman in our country and also proposals which will guide to researchers who want to study in this subject have been given.
