Summary: In this study, the data collected by Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing (RS) techniques have been analysed with Analytic Hierarchy Process to evaluate the region of Sinop district and Gerze, province to produce the landslide susceptibility map. In the produced maps, five different sensitivity ranges have been determined. The related literature and field studies clearly reveal that geology, land class, slope, slope curvature, elevation, distance to the main road, proximity to stream, and distance of the structural elements, are effective parameters in producing landslide susceptibility maps. During the preparation process of landslide susceptibility maps with analytic hierarchy analysis method parameter weight values have been determined by the use of landslide density values. The landslide susceptibility degrees and percentage distributions have been calculated and approximately 26% of the working area has been diagnosed as being under the threat of landslides.
