Summary:
According to the rock engineering system (RES) applied for determination of potantiel durability index, the most important factors affecting durability are annual average precipitaion and temperature, existing of climate conditions affecting on frozen-thaw, hydrogeological conditions, humidity and chemical compount respectively, and the less significant factors affecting durability are deformation and strength properties of building stones. According to the accalerated weathering test, there are meaingfull statistical relationships between the change values of physico-mechanical properties and static rock durability indicator, quantitative weathering index, potantiel durability index. According to the results of this study, static and dinamic rock durability indicator are related to the strength of building stones against weathering and alteration. But, considering to these indicators, most of practical tests are needed for classification and description of building stones. To obtain reliable results in the prediction of building stone weatherability in engineering time using RES, the parameters should be selected effectively and durability classification should be performed with other applications.Key words: Tuff, durability, accalerated weathering tests, alectic wave velocity, rock durability indexs, rock engineering system
