| Summary:
In this study, formation condution and geological properties of Kalecik travertine, operated in 2006, were investigated and laboratory tests were conducted for determination of suitibility considering to the natural stone standarts. The geological units are the Malm-Dogger aged Berdiga Formation, Late Cretaceous aged Kermutdere Formation, Quternary travertine and alluvium in the studied area.Production methods is open surface step in the area. In the operated area, % 60 of block travertine and % 40 of marble rubbles were producted. Obtained block size is about 1.5 m x 1 m x 2 m. Considering to the reserve, physical and other properties of travertines, this travertines plays a very important role on region economy due to they have suitable properties according to the certain standarts Anahtar Kelimeler: Gümüşhane, Kalecik, Marble, Travertine
