Summary: Seed width, length and thickness of seeds, 1000 seed weight, seed viability percentage by cutting and tetrazolium tests were determined per population and trees. Root collar diameter, seedling height and branch number were measured in one and two years old seedling and genetic variations between and within populations were determined. In addition, variations in growth season starting of one year old seedling were also detected. Genetic variations between and within populations were determined with regards to seed and seedling characteristic by variance analysis conducted in SPSS statistic software. The genetic diversity levels that observed within the population for many of the characteristics studied on the Oriental Beech have been found higher than the diversity levels among populations.
