Summary: Fourteen forest functions or values were determined and timber production, soil conservation, water production, carbon sequestration, oxygen production and non-wood forest products values were associated with different forest structure. Besides, forest fire risk was integrated into forest management plan with the assistance of a logistic regression model. A strategic decision making model (Linear Programming) was developed over 50 year planning horizon and solved with LINDOTM. 12 alternative planning strategies were developed to maximize wood production and Net Present Value (NPV) obtained from wood production, minimize soil loss and NPV obtained from soil loss. Planning unit considered as a whole and strategies were developed on the basis of stands thus, spatial features of stands partly integrated into planning process. Five alternative planning strategies were developed including different objective functions like minimizing fire risk or maximizing carbon sequestration. Furthermore, site classification inventory was conducted using both direct and remote sensing methods. Also questionnaires were applied to actualize the participatory approach and highlight the tourism and recreation activities.
