Summary: This study was implemented in Q.brantii Lindl. and Q. cerris L. The main purpose of this study was to compare the seedlings established by sowing and planting in field, in terms of survival and growth of seedlings. Split plots in randomized blocks experimental design was applied in both nursery and field.
In field, in sowing method; mean height, rot caller diameter and survival percentage were respectively determined as 14,31 cm., 3,98 mm. and 98,50 % for Q. brantii Lindl.; and 10,54 cm., 3,50 mm. and 89,08 % for Q. cerris L., In planting method; mean height, root caller diameter and survival percentage were respectively found as 15,11 cm., 4,14 mm. and 40,84 % for Q. brantii Lindl. and 11,65 cm., 3,83 mm. and 19,40 % for Q. cerris L. In conclusion, the results of this study indicated that seedlings grown by sowing were more successful than those grown by planting in field, especially in point of survival.
