Summary:

A total of 22-sample plots were selected from pure and mixed stands to determine the stand structures. Crown projections were taken in the sample plots, and stand profiles were drawn. Growth relations of lebanon cedar, cilician fir and crimean pine were investigated in order to determine age-height superiority to be given a tree species growing slowly in the process of natural regeneration of mixed stands. Natural regeneration and its ecological conditions were determined with detailed observations and examinations in the sample plots.

At the result of investigation, structures of pure calabrian pine, pure crimean pine, pure lebanon cedar, pure cilician fir stands, lebanon cedar+cilician fir and lebanon cedar+crimean pine+cilician fir mixed stands in the research area were determined. These stands have generally different aged, two or many storied and loose or lighted closure structure. However, even aged and one storied structures have also been observed.

In the lebanon cedar+cilician fir mixed stands, lebanon cedar generally grows faster than cilician fir in respect to age-height growth. In the mixed stands of lebanon cedar+crimean pine+cilician fir, lebanon cedar or crimean pine grows faster than the other species.

The stand structures in the research area have been found very far to the goal structures. On the formation of these structures, especially illegal cuttings, goat grazing, irregular and extreme selection cuttings and insufficient stand tending have mostly been found effective.
