Summary: On the other hand in order to expose the effect of the growing medium for the seedlings cultivated for the subalpin areas, two mixture type which contain %80 forest soil, %10 pumice and %10 river sand in the first mixture and %30 forest soil, %60 peat and %10 perlitte in the second mixture were used as site environment. Some morphological characteristics such as after germination cotyledon number (CN) and cotyledon length (CL) and in (2+0) years old seedlings seedling height (SH), root collar diameter (RCD), branch number (BN), branch length (BL), terminal shoot bud number (TSBN) were counted and measured. As a result of measurements, in the first environment mean SH obtained 5.09 cm, mean RCD obtained 2.18 mm, mean BN obtained 1.23, mean BL obtained 2.35 cm, mean TSBN obtained 1.30 and in the second environment, mean SH obtained 5.23 cm, mean RCD obtained1.74 mm, mean BN obtained 1.17, mean BL obtained 2.56 cm, mean TSBN obtained 1.17. Also mean CN obtained 8.12 and mean CL obtained 0.97 cm as well. When analysis of variance was done by the help of SPSS, it was determined that there are significant differences between sampling plots, forest zones and trees according to the CN, CL, SH, RCD, BN, BL, TSBN values at the significant levels of α= 0.01 and α= 0.05.
