Summary:

Throughout the study period from April 2005 to June 2006, observations were made in a total of 95 field trips. The study was conducted by using combined method of direct and indirect observations including different tracks and signs. During the study, wildlife animals and their situation were first determined in the study area. Then, possible threats of the presence of wildlife were investigated. Focal species were determined and as a last step important habitats for the wildlife in the area determined and with a special attention given to focal species.

As a result of the study, 34 mammals, 174 birds, 14 freshwater fish, 10 reptiles, and 7 amphibian species were identified. As the focal species; Golden eagle (Aquila chrysaetos), Lesser spotted eagle (Aquila pomarina), Black vulture (Aegypius monachus), Griffon vulture (Gyps fulvus), Lammergeierl (Gypaetus barbatus), Brown bear (Ursus arctos), Lynx (Lynx lynx), Wolf (Canis lupus), Wild boar (Sus scrofa), Roe deer (Capreolus capreolus), Otter (Lutra lutra) and Brown trout (Salmo trutta macrostigma) were determined in the study area.
