Summary: In this study, Common alder (Alnus glutinosa subsp. barbata (C.A. Mey.) Yalt.) seeds were taken from five different areas including Espiye-1, Espiye-2, Akçaabat, Maçkaand Kanuni campus. In addition to these, some seeds were collected from Kanuni campus on four different times as a material for this research.Evaluations have been made on the germination percentages on the tree base of Common alder (Alnus glutinosa subsp. barbata (C.A. Mey.) Yalt.) seeds used as a materialsource, taking the tree as a base. Given the Alnus glutinosa subsp. barbata (C.A. Mey.) Yalt. seeds, this research aims examine the origin, seed collection time, a 15 minute hotgermination process and the individual effects of a 2,5 month cold stratification in experiments were conducted on germination by sea salt with four different concentrations (%1, %2, %4, %6) including different seed collection times in Kanuni campus origin and the best performed on germinated individuals in each sample origin. When analysis of variance was done by the help of SPSS (values at the significant levels of α= 0,05), it was determined that there are significant differences between origin, hot water pretreatment, light and salt on the percentages of germination. Besides, it has been indicated there factors, seed collection time, hot water pretreatment, ligt and coldstratification and salt cause significant differences on the campus origin seeds collected in different times .Key Words: Common alder (Alnus glutinosa subsp. barbata (C.A.
