Summary: In this study, it was aimed to arrange the site index table using polymorphic method for cedar stands in Antalya province. For this aim, sample trees -old and exposed to lesspressure possibly - have been taken from different sites and stem analysis have been made on these trees. Bound to the data obtained from the stem analysis, the height of each treewas calculated by ISSA method and height-age curves were determined for each sampling tree by means of Chapman-Richards function. In order to obtain all height-age curves fromjust one model, the relations between coefficients of height-age curves and site index have been determined, finally a site index table with polymorphic method has been arranged andThe height-age curves composed by Chapman-Richards function for each tree, showed high level statistical adaptation and were found statistical relations between site index and b0 and b2 coefficients. It is concluded that there are no differences for 10, 15 and20 m index values but there are some differences for 25 and 30 m index values when it is statistically compared with the Evcimen (1963)’s site index table composed by anamorphicmethod for the same tree species. Finally some recommendations and discussions have been made in order to compose more reliable site index tables.Key Words: Lebanon Cedar, Site Index Table, Stem Analysis, Growth Function, Polymorphic Method. |
