Title of the Thesis: The Morphogenetic Investigation of Natural European Aspen Exemplified from
Level: M.Sc.
Acceptance Date: 14/4/2008
Number of Pages: 55
Registration Number: i1899
Summary:

It is studied here in order to determine the genetic variation among the populations

and the relations among the some morphologic characters, which belong to 30 sampled

trees in 6 different populations in the location of European aspen (Populus tremula L.)

founded naturally in Asarcık zone, Sebinkarahisar.

It has been determinated that the germination of seeds that belong to Sample Trees in

D and E populations starts after 24 hours. The percentage of the average germination has

changed 34.8 to 92.6 %. Overall percentage of germination was found as 65.88 %.

Germination was completed in 5 days and most of the germination was completed in 24

hours. 99 % of germination was carried out in 5 days.

Correlations were found among the length of leaf stem, the width of the leaf, the leaf

length, the leaf surface spaciousness, the weight of the dry leaf, the angle of intersection of

the leaf with the branch, the width of the bud, the length of bud which belongs to sample

tress. Among all these populations, from the point of view all these characters, there is a

big difference like p <0,001.
