Summary:

In the middle of 19 th century, cooperative activation was launched to by Rochdale in England as a consuption cooperative. At the same time, it was seemed as a production consuption in France and credit cooperative was seemed in Germany. In Turkey, cooperative is based on Otoman Empire term but actually it developed in Republic term. First of all “İstihsal, Alım ve Satım Kooperatifleri Nizamnamesi” was constituted in 1923 and it was started which called of term after republic. A new term started in 2000 when it passed act about “Agricultural Marketing Cooperatives and Confederacies.

In future, it should be used new and effective methods in rural development plans for solving problems about cooperatives which is very important for rural development.
