Summary: In this study, we estimated carbon (C) stock using remote sensing in stands of Research area. Calculation of carbon stock in field were conducted 193 sample plots in various stand types. Equations developed for eastern Spruce (Picea orientalis L.) and Scots pine were used to predict carbon storage of whole trees. For other species biomass equations and Biomass Expanded Factor (BEF1) were used in calculation of carbon storage. The remote sensing data used to estimated carbon stock of stands in research area is Landsat 7 ETM+ bands 4-3-2 with spatial resolution of 30x30 m. The acquisition date of image was june 2000. Then, supervised classification was conducted on Landsat 7 ETM+ image using data obtained from sample plots. When restricted classification was carried, maximum likelihood was used. In consequence of inspections, accuracy rate of general classification and Kappa statistic were 79.17% and R2=0.7201 respectively and concluded the Carbon Storage Capacity could be determined using Remote Sensing Methods.
